Yup. There's always a danger in dismissing a new way of doing things while the technology is still in its infancy.
Jim, thanks for this thoughtful and thought-provokinig contribution to the discussion. Mark Edmundson only seems to be aware of a limited type of online education. With the technologies availabe today there's ample scope for interacton. And this is the difference between 20th century online education and the 21st century version that he doesn't seem to be aware of.

Jim, I couldn't agree more. I imagine Edmundson's opinions are largely based on his experience with and exposure to poorly designed, poorly delivered online curricula. That's hardly the medium's fault. It's more helpful to consider, as you have begun to do, what works well in online education, what doesn't and why. I imagine that's how we will make progress. Thanks for your thoughtful response to Edmundson's piece.

It's true if we can use the social media to full potential. Online education really helps clear the wall between student and professor communication. A one-on-one talk can increase the amount of learning student can have. Atleast you can sure that your college paper http://www.essayscapital.com/college-papers/ will be clearly discuss with the attention you will be getting.
